On May 14, the Warren County community turned out in record numbers to attend “Beams and Dreams” the primary Habitat fundraising event of the year. This event traditionally provides a fifth or more of the funds needed to build a home in Warren County with volunteer labor and contributed materials.
The event was held at Hawk Pointe Golf Club in Washington on May 14, 2016 and featured entertainer Eric Kearns, headlining celebrity singer impersonator. A silent auction of donated goods and services followed raffles of premium gift baskets also donated by businesses and individuals from the community.
A total of $22,500 was raised at the event, far surpassing last year’s total of $16,000! The funds will be used for the construction of a duplex currently under construction in Port Colden. One section of the duplex will be the new home for a partner family of six, and the other section will house a single mother and her son.
We would like to thank our many volunteers and donors, our co-chairwomen Ruthann Brown and Kathy Halpin, all of the attendees whose generosity was so evident throughout the evening, and, finally, our major sponsors for their support and contributions:
