For the first time since 2019, Warren County Habitat for Humanity (Warren County Habitat) held their annual Beams and Dreams fundraiser in-person once again! On Saturday, October 8th, about 150 members of the Warren County Habitat community gathered at Hawk Pointe Golf Club to support building homes, communities and hope.
This year, Warren County Habitat for Humanity is celebrating welcoming their 21st family into their own home, serving the community at the ReStore for 10 years, and impacting a total of 40 households internationally to date. At their fundraiser, vocal impressionist Eric Kearns returned to dazzle the audience by performing as Johnny Cash, Frank Sinatra, Willie Nelson, The Temptations, and even Cher. Guests also had the opportunity to win some high-value prizes, such as a beautifully handcrafted porch swing, a digitized Pit Boss Pellet Grill and Smoker, and a round of golf for a foursome at the exclusive Oak Hill Golf Club.
This year alone, Warren County Habitat has completed and dedicated two homes, and broken ground on two more. The next two homes are set to be completed in early 2023. Since starting their Critical Home Repair program last year, where low- to moderate- income Warren County homeowners can apply for repairs that affect their health or safety, Warren County Habitat has completed six different repair projects with seven more in the works. They also opened the first New Jersey Habitat for Humanity Community Center in April, and have been successfully serving seniors, children, and Veterans with community events and workshops.
Warren County Habitat’s annual Beams and Dreams fundraiser helped support these community efforts by raising approximately $38,000. The money will go toward Warren County Habitat’s current build and repair projects, along with new and existing efforts to build homes and hope in Warren County. “This is what [Warren County] Habitat’s all about,” Executive Director Ben Eskow said during his welcome speech at the event, “It’s about building together. It’s about providing hope.”
Warren County Habitat for Humanity would like to acknowledge Hawk Pointe Golf Club for the use of their stunning venue year after year. While there are many organizations who supported this event, they would also like to thank Elizabethtown Gas, Phillipsburg Rotary Club and Valley Bank for being Beams and Dreams’ main sponsors this year.
